The voters have spoken and Mike Fitzpatrick has been selected as Republican candidate for U.S. Congress for the 8th district.
I congratulate Mike and will support him totally in his campaign to win the general election in November and defeat his Democrat opponent. I urge all Republicans and conservatives in the 8th district to support Mike Fitzpatrick to victory and to support all of the Republican candidates in November.
We conservatives must increase our efforts to restore limited, constitutional government, free markets, and accountability to our nation. I am ever more convinced that big government solutions and spending will never resolve our economic and social challenges. I am convinced that government solutions have caused our economic and social issues. I hold these convictions even more as a result of my efforts over the past six months.
Thank you to all of my supporters over the past six months in my quest for the nomination. You are all wonderfully generous and supportive people and true patriots! Linda and I love you all.

My name is Ira Hoffman and I am a candidate for Congressman for the Pennsylvania 8th Congressional District.
I am seeking your support to win the Republican primary election on May 18, 2010 and then to win the general election on November 2, 2010.
Please take the time to learn about me and my viewpoints by reviewing the information here on this website. My background and views will convince you that I am the best person to represent you as Congressman.
I am a son of loving and elderly parents, who live independently and proudly but also confront greater personal challenges. As a family, we face these challenges together and openly.
I am also a parent and I love my children very much. I see them now in college and starting their careers and I try to be the best father and friend I can be to them. I see the challenges and opportunities they face, and I know that they will succeed and be happy if they keep their positive and responsible attitudes toward themselves and all people.
As a husband I am fortunate to have a wonderful wife and positive relationships with my wife’s family. In part because of them, I have restarted my faith and become highly involved in the church we attend. I give many hours of my time to my church and to other non-profit organizations to improve the lives of people throughout this area.
Having worked for 30 years in business, my entry position was in chemical engineering. Now I operate my own financial planning business. I earned a degree in chemical engineering from Bucknell University and an MBA from Harvard University.
As in today’s society, I also witnessed the challenges facing Americans in the working world. I was once re-organized out of my career. These career challenges require us as individuals and a nation to prepare personally and also require our government to adopt new thinking on how to best prepare and safeguard Americans’ retirement savings and health care coverage given the realities of the workplace.
Now, I see aspects of our nation that concern me greatly. I see deep economic problems, weak jobs creation, government over-spending and debt, and steady erosion of our personal freedoms. I see ongoing failure by career politicians and lawyers to fix our nation’s problems and their inability to resist attaining money and power for themselves.
These are among the reasons I am seeking the PA 8th District congressional seat. Good people who care and have ambition can no longer just watch American politics from the sidelines. I am a career businessman and problem-solver, and have worked throughout my life on teams of diverse people to solve complex business and financial issues. I want to contribute to the fabric of America and work through the legislative process and block those with motives to diminish our rights and basic freedoms.
Most important, I believe in and live my life with integrity, responsibility, and accountability. Furthermore, I believe in the good of the people. I am not self serving.
I humbly ask for your support and your help to be elected to Congress.
