MY BIOGRAPHY
- I was born in Harrisburg, PA and have lived in Bucks County for the past 22 years.
- Linda Marshall Hoffman is my wife. Linda is a lifelong resident of Bucks County where we reside in Solebury Township.
- I graduated from Bucknell University with a B.S. in chemical engineering and worked as an engineer for Exxon and Mobil Oil Corporations for seven years. My roles with these companies was supporting their refinery operations and planning and designing multi-billion dollar refinery expansion projects.
- I graduated from Harvard Business School with an MBA and worked in middle management for a large paper manufacturer in New York City. My career there was negotiating logistics contracts to reduce costs and managing corporate finance to ensure the corporation always had sufficient funds to run its businesses and maximize return on its investments.
- Initially in 1990, I worked as a senior manager for a specialty chemical manufacturer. For 17 years I led departments and large project teams to streamline the supply chain operations of the corporation to continually improve competitiveness and cost efficiency. I managed multi-million dollar projects to improve business efficiencies throughout the North American businesses and which resulted in significant cost savings for the corporation and higher quality service for its customers. I also performed and led detailed financial analysis of corporate acquisitions and large capital expenditures to maximize returns on the company’s investments. I negotiated global contracts on behalf of the corporation to secure vital services from key suppliers at the lowest cost.
- Since 2007, I have operated Hoffman Wealth Solutions, a financial planning and investment advisory business serving families and businesses. I advise clients on saving and investing for retirement, education, and other goals, and advise and implement comprehensive plans that address all of their financial needs. I passed the rigorous education and board exam for the certified financial planning designation, and am a registered investment advisor and licensed life and health insurance agent.
- I raised my son in central Bucks County, and was actively involved in local youth athletics and his education in the Council Rock district.
- I am a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Director of the Finance committee, and serve on other committees there as well.
- I serve on the executive board of the United Methodist Foundation, a non-profit organization which oversees the institutional investment managers for church endowments.
- I served on the New Hope-Solebury Education fund, raising funds for special projects to supplement the budget of the school district.
