Hoffman For Congress campaign officially announces and receives excellent media coverage
- 1-7-2010
On Tuesday January 5, Ira Hoffman announced his campaign for Congress for the 8th PA District at The Solebury Club in Buckingham. The Solebury Club represents the vital role that small businesses have in jobs creation and economic growth. The Club's focus on health and fitness is testimony to people taking personal accountability for their health and welfare and taking proactive steps toward reducing their future health care costs.
Hoffman's speech and interviews afterward were warmly received by the attendees and the media. Hoffman pointed people to his 8 Principles for the 8th District, which outline his priorities for resolving issues that we face as a district and nation. The first two priorities are creating jobs and controlling government spending. Please see the press release below for all of Hoffman's 8 Principles, or read about them and his action plan in the 'My Action Plan' page of the Hoffman4Congress.com website.
The Hoffman For Congress campaign received excellent coverage in several local newspapers on Wednesday January 6. If you have not already done so, please read the coverage in the Wednesday editions of the Bucks County Courier Times, The Intelligencer, and The Bucks County Herald.

Solebury, PA, January 5, 2010 — Ira Hoffman, President of Hoffman Wealth Solutions, announces today that he is a Republican candidate for Congress in the 8th District of Pennsylvania. Mr. Hoffman makes his announcement at 12:00 noon from The Solebury Club, a health club and spa, 4612 Hughesian Drive, Buckingham, PA 18912. He chose this location because he respects the vital role small business plays in creating jobs and economic growth.
Mr. Hoffman is a 30-year business executive with an MBA from Harvard University. He has significant leadership experience in directing teams of problem solvers at both the national and international levels. His achievements include on-time, within-budget practical solutions to complex financial and corporate problems, experience that will serve him well as a member of Congress.
Early in his career, Mr. Hoffman was a Chemical Engineer after earning his BS Degree from Bucknell University. An ardent advocate of energy independence, he studied energy public policy at the Kennedy School of Government. At Exxon Engineering, he researched, with hundreds of other scholarly engineers and scientists, alternative energy sources, and he is convinced that we can end America’s dependence on foreign oil.
Mr. Hoffman is genuinely interested in having the American people pursue good health habits and reduce future health costs, hence another reason for his selection of The Solebury Club as the location for his announcement. He would like to see more prevention and wellness programs. He expects to play a decisive role in repealing the current Health Care Bill passed in Congress and in advocating pragmatic alternatives.
Moreover, Mr. Hoffman is ready to move forward with a package of 8 Principles for the 8th District. His 8 Principles are as follows:
1. Control government spending and reduce the deficit.
2. Enable the private sector to create jobs and prosperity.
3. Stop the current Health Care Bill; create a new Bill.
4. Make America energy independent.
5. Secure America from terrorism and illegal immigration.
6. Stop Cap and Trade.
7. Stop bail-outs and restore government, corporate, and personal ethics and accountability.
8. Restore free enterprise and protect personal freedoms.
“I Represent Action (IRA),” Mr. Hoffman said. “Mr. Murphy represents whatever Nancy Pelosi tells him to represent. I will represent the people and their interests and not the special interests of ‘the Big Three’ (Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Chuck Schumer) and their corporate and special interest lobbyists.”
Mr. Hoffman wants to undo the damage done by Mr. Murphy’s voting record. He disapproves of Mr. Murphy’s unwillingness to listen to his constituents and his willingness to stand at attention for the “Big Three” led by Nancy Pelosi.
“I recognize the lack of fiscal accountability and the overreach of the federal government that is already threatening our constitutional rights and freedoms,” said Mr. Hoffman, “and I know that a legislator has a responsibility to actually read a Bill before voting to pass it.”
A 22–year resident of Bucks County, Mr. Hoffman lives with his family in Solebury Township.
