Ira Hoffman Signs the Defund Pledge to Support and Defend the Constitution

  • 4-2-2010

***For Immediate Release***

Ira Hoffman is a U.S. Congressional candidate in Pennsylvania’s 8th District and has become the first major candidate to sign the Defund Pledge from Strategic Solutions.

Mr. Hoffman has taken a bold first step to let his constituents know that he will not only support and defend the Constitution, but that he will obey it as well.

The Defund Pledge states:

“I solemnly pledge to my constituents that I will consistently vote to defund, or vote against appropriating any money for, any federal department, program, or activity not specifically authorized by an enumerated power in the United States Constitution.”

“For any federal department, program, or activity that I do vote to fund, I will provide the specific enumerated power Constitutionally permitting it.”

Mr. Hoffman is a strong Constitutionalist and accomplished businessman with an MBA from Harvard University. He currently runs his own wealth management firm in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Hoffman has a firm understanding of the United States Constitution and its Enumerated Powers, and in a recent telephone interview with Strategic Solutions, he questioned how anyone who considers themselves a believer in Constitutional government could not sign the Defund Pledge.

He said, “The Constitution is very clear about what the Federal Government can and cannot do, and the Enumerated Powers set those boundaries. For the last 70 years, our Federal Government has been operating outside those boundaries.”

Strategic Solutions is proud to endorse Ira Hoffman for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 8th Congressional District.
